Take a Deep Breath and Relax –
This is Braces the Modern Zen Way

With our zen-inspired office, high-tech Damon® braces, and gentle, holistic approach, getting braces at Modern Zen Orthodontics is surprisingly relaxing — and even fun! Here’s what you can expect during the process:

From Your Initial Consultation Step By Step

1

Step 1: Settle in for Your Exam and Records
When you enter our tranquil space, feel free to take a deep breath and enjoy the soothing sounds of our water walls and background zen music. One of our team members will collect relevant information and take your orthodontic records involving photos and digital x-rays. Dr. Robles will then conduct an exam to understand your specific needs.
2

Step 2: Explore Your Treatment Options
Your second visit will be a conference meeting with Dr. Robles. She’ll walk you through her diagnosis and present tailored treatment recommendations. During this time, you’ll also get to ask questions and learn about the full range of treatment options available. This conference will ensure you clearly understand the reason for these recommendations. Our treatment coordinator will be on hand to show you what you can anticipate during the first few procedures and cover any insurance and financial questions you have. We keep it transparent, simple, and stress-free.
3

Step 3: Enjoy The Atmosphere While Your Braces Are Placed On
Getting braces placed on doesn’t hurt a bit, and there are no needles involved. Dr. Robles' zen team will help prepare your teeth before she finalizes the positions of the Damon brackets onto your teeth. Before you leave, we’ll make sure you’re well-prepared with all the information and tools you’ll need to keep your braces and gums in top-notch shape.
4

Step 4: Routine Checkups
You’ll have checkups usually every eight to ten weeks so Dr. Robles can monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments. We also offer Digital Dental Monitoring, which lets Dr. Robles keep tabs on your tooth movements remotely in between office visits. This allows us to ensure any tooth movements and gum health are monitored, whether you are local or on vacation across the world. Communication is very efficient allowing us to maintain more control over the outcome.
5

Step 5: Celebrate Your New Smile
It’s time for the big reveal! Dr. Robles will gently remove your brackets and wires and clean your teeth. At the same time, a temporary bonded "glued in" retainer will be placed behind your front teeth for a few months. Once your gums have time to heal and recover and your bite feels and fits more naturally, your final records will be taken and removable retainers will be given to help maintain your results. From there, we’ll see you on a yearly basis for retention checks to ensure your teeth remain beautifully straight for life.
